Coliving founders’ retreat
Ever since we opened Chateau Coliving back in May 2021 we have had in the back of our heads to one day organize a gathering of coliving owners.
We felt it would be wonderful to be able to bring together people who shared our passion for community as well as our challenges to make a business with people at heart, work!
Of course, life is what happens while you are busy making plans, and as we got busy welcoming our first residents, our first team members and taking care of the chateau, the idea of a gathering was placed on the back burner.
In March 2022, as our founder Katia spent a week in Romania for the pre-opening of Cobana Coliving alongside other coliving owners, the idea was brought up again: we need to meet! We have so much to share and learn from each other!
A couple of months later, as serendipity would have it, the team of Coliving Hub, the association for coliving spaces for digital nomads reached out to Katia to discuss an idea they had had since before the pandemic and were really looking forward to make happen this year.
And that is the story of how Chateau Coliving hosted the very first Coliving Founders’ Retreat!
From September 30th to October 5th, 10 coliving owners (or future owners) coming from all over Europe and even north America gathered at the Chateau for a week of workshops, masterminds, brainstorming as well as deeper and more personal chats around delicious food and wine.
Each day was dedicated to a topic from Marketing to sales, processes, and Community. The Chateau and manoir offered a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces that truly allowed everyone to find a place to relax, a place to connect, and another one to hide away if needed.
In addition to the workshop contents, the Coliving Hub team added some well-needed games and activities to inspire the body as well as the mind.
In order to fuel that energy, the Chateau team put a lot of love into designing delicious breakfasts and lunches with our catering partner as well as carefully selecting restaurants to discover the traditional dishes of Normandie.
We’ll leave the last word to Katia:
‘Having this event here…it feels like this place is fulfilling its purpose… the exchanges are so inspiring – Let’s keep helping each other grow.’
